Herwigsdorf Primary School is a school with pupils from the districts of Bischdorf, Herwigsdorf and Ebersdorf. The school is located in the centre of Herwigsdorf and pupils can come to the school by bus, bicycle, car or on foot. Six teachers and guest teachers teach at the school. The school has large, friendly classrooms, specialized workrooms and associated preparation rooms. The gym is located directly next to the school building and the sports field is about a five-minute walk away. The day care centre "Rotsteinzwerge" is located close to the school. There are cooperation agreements with the kindergarten "Jäckelknirpse" (AWO - Arbeiterwohlfahrt) in the district of Ebersdorf. The after school day-care centre is located in the extension of the school and offers many opportunities for both collective and individual leisure activities. The common room has a beautiful playground which the children enjoy using. Primary school children from all three districts have the opportunity to benefit from after-school care. The school offers between 10 and 12 proposals for full-day after-school activities under the motto "Learning with all the senses".
